The St. Agnes Readers Ministry dedicated to:

"Proclaiming the Greatness of the Lord"

Luke 1:46

Coordinator:

Dennis Westfall - 435-0793 - denwestfall@comcast.net

Description:

It was the prophet Isaiah who said: "...The Lord God has given me a well-trained tongue..." and as a Reader, that is where it begins!

Although we are called "Readers," the role of a Reader goes beyond what the term suggests. We are not simply reciting words from a page. Rather, we make the Lord truly present in the Liturgy of the Word, by PROCLAIMING THE LIVING WORD OF GOD.

Each and every time we stand before the assembly, we use our God-given talents to clearly and effectively communicate His Word - knowing that lives can change when God's Word is truly heard!

Readers are generally scheduled to serve at two Masses per month, while proclaiming one of the readings at each scheduled Mass. We participate in the Entrance and Recessional Procession. Readers are also encouraged to participate in various forms of enrichment and preparation activities. Training is available both on a Parish and Diocesan level for new readers.

We welcome new members and would ask that you consider the possibility of becoming a member of the St. Agnes Parish Readers Ministry!
