The Welcoming Ministry

The Welcoming Ministry volunteers visit newly registered families, and introduce them to the dynamic community of St. Agnes. While visiting, they bless the house, provide literature about the parish, and answer any questions new families may have about parish life.

Casserole Program

Inspired by family and friends, this program provides home-cooked food for anyone sufering from a loss, recovering from childbirth or celebrating a "special" victory. Many St. Agnes families regularly prepare casseroles and personally deliver them as a tangible expression of the love and support of St. Agnes Church.

Divorce and Beyond
St. Agnes offers a 10-week structured support group for those dealing with divorce issues including support for those individuals who are struggling with their single identity and attempting to cope with many complex emotions. This ministry includes group discussions, weekly readings, and question and answer sessions.

Elizabeth Ministry
This "like to like" ministry, inspired by the shared joy of mary and her cousin Elizabeth, is a source of encouragement and support for women. Women come together, united by common experiences, for conversation, prayer, social nights out, children's play groups, and special masses.

Grief Support Program
The Grief Support program helps parishioners who are dealing with the loss of a loved one. It is an eight-week course which addresses the feelings that accompany grief, a course in which two trained listeners help facilitate the healing process. Readings from "Understanding Grief - Helping Yourself Heal" provide a guiding framework for the program.

Prayer Line
Prayer for and with each other is a wonderful way to celebrate the many ways in which we are family in St. Agnes parish. This ministry is designed to be responsive to parish community members' requests for prayers. As requests are received, a dedicated group of parishioners pray on a regular basis.

Bereavement Ministry
Bereavement volunteers help parishioners who have suffered the loss of a family member make the funeral a loving, personal tribute to the loved one. They meet with the family, assisting them in selecting readings and music for the funeral liturgy, as well as planning other spiritual options. These volunteers will also attend the funeral mass, when their support is requested.

Bereavement Cards
As members of the Mystical Body we are united in charity....If one member suffers, all suffer together. The Bereavement Card ministry, established to extend to the families of deceased parishioners the sympathy of the whole parish community, reflects this belief. Sympathy cards are periodically sent to a family up to one year after the death of their loved one, in the hope that the grieving family will be consoled by the knowledge that we continue to support them with our prayers.

Cards for the Sick
Dedicated parishioners, recognizing other's need for "well" wishes, mail monthly inspirational cards to parishioners.

Sick Call Ministry
Loving, sensitive volunteers call homebound parishioners on a regular basis, and engage them in ongoing conversations.

Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick
The Eucharistic Ministry, a wonderful calling from our Lord, brings the Eucharist to ill and homebound parishioners who are unable to come to church.

Health Ministry Program
The Parish Nursing Ministry is a group of health professionals and lay volunteers who encourage and support families in their search for spiritual and physical wholeness.

Rainbows Program
Inthis program, children who are experiencing unrest and tension due to changes in the family caused by divorce, death or other loss, share their feelings through activities, games, and discussions.
