St. Agnes Catholic Church 

 
 
 
Purpose:
Develops comprehensive budget, tracks and controls expenses, and presents financial report to parish after fiscal year end.
 
 
Mission Statement:
Each parish is to have a finance council which is regulated by universal law as well as by the norms by the diocesan bishops: in this Council the Christian faithful, selected according to the same norms, aid the pastor in the administration of parish goods (paragraph 537 of the Code of Cannon Law).
 
 
Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the pastor in periodic review of financial data, including required financial reporting to the diocese
  2. Assist the pastor in coordination and formulation of annual budget
  3. Provide counsel and advice to the pastor regarding significant expenditures and other financial issues
  4. Provide guidance and recommendations with regard to the parish's financial progress
  5. Report annually to the parish congregation, on financial condition of St. Agnes Parish
  6. Review audit recommendations and recommend appropriate response
 
Council Meetings:
The St. Agnes Finance Council holds regular meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except December). The November meeting is delayed a week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Attendance includes council members, Pastor and parish accounting support. Additional meetings are held as needed.
 
 
Committee Structure:
St. Agnes Finance Council should consist of no less than four parishioners appointed by the pastor.
