Ecumenical Committee

 

St. Agnes Catholic Church 

 
 
 
Purpose:
The Ecumenical Committee of St. Agnes promotes cooperation among the religious communities of Gloucester Township by participating in the Glouester Township Ministerium and by organizing and promoting the annual Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service (traditionally, the Thanksgiving service held one week prior to the Thanksgiving holiday).
 
Mission Statement:
In response to the Lord's call that "...all may become one", to actively participate with the churches of Gloucester Township in celebrating, sharing, and manifesting God's love to our community.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Organize and host at least one ecumenical worship service per year
  • Represent St. Agnes Parish at monthly prayer meetings sponsored by the Mayor. These are held at 8:30 AM on the first Wednesday of every month, in the mayor's office
  • On a rotating basis with other Township clergy, offer the opening prayer at Township Council Meetings
  • Share specific services, events, and resources among the various churches to benefit the entire local community
  • Serve as a liaison between the ministerium and St. Agnes to promote other ecumenical events
  • Promote the participation and attendance of St. Agnes at Ecumenical events - solicit clergy participation where needed
  • Participate in the common prayer for our community, clergy, and churches
